Who is it for?
The service is available to appointed legal representatives in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man who wish to sell MUFG Corporate Markets registered stocks for deceased estates. Up to five separate holdings can be sold per submission.
Before you Complete the Dealing Submission
Before any shares can be sold the share register must be updated. Please see our Bereavement Brochure for further details regarding the grant of representation.
Letter of Authority
To complete the submission we will require a signed (by all registered executors) letter of authority to be uploaded within the portal. The authority must give permission for the appointed representatives to action the sale and where necessary authorise payment to a solicitor client money account. Blank forms can be found here
Outstanding Dividends
Requests to receive any outstanding dividends can be submitted through the letter of authority.
About the Service
Dealing will take place once per day and the next business day following receipt of your online submission.
Share Certificates
You will need to be in possession of the valid share certificates to sell the shares. The portal will require the certificate number and amount for the five largest certificates pertaining to any given holding. Incorrect submissions will delay the sale.
Missing Certificates
Please note that you must be selling the entire holding to use this certificate replacement service.
Indemnities for missing share certificates up to a value of £10,000 can be actioned through the portal. For missing certificates over this value please call 0371 664 0445.
If you are selling BP plc shares and are missing certificates, there is no fee.
For all other companies:
Under £125 share value is free. MUFG Corporate Markets will deduct £50 from your sales proceeds for missing certificates up to £5,000 in value, £75 for certificates valued between £5,001 and £7,500 or £100 for certificates valued over £7,501 and less than £10,000.
Submission Confirmation
You will receive email confirmation and a unique reference number once you have submitted your instructions.
